Glean — Privacy Policy
Effective 7 September 2026.
Glean offers one line from a public-domain text and a place to write what you think about it. This policy describes what the app does with information. It is short because the app does very little with it.
What stays on your device
Your journal. Everything you write, every line you draw, every favourite. It is stored in a database on your phone and nowhere else. We cannot read it, back it up, or recover it for you. Deleting the app deletes it.
Your settings. Which sources you hear from, when you want a reminder, and whether you have full access.
The app has no account, no sign-in, and no server of its own. It does not use analytics, advertising, or crash reporting. It does not track you across apps or websites.
What leaves your device
Purchases. If you buy full access, the purchase is made through Apple's App Store or Google Play, under their terms and privacy policies. To confirm the purchase and to let you restore it on another device, the app uses RevenueCat, a subscription service. RevenueCat receives the purchase receipt, an anonymous identifier generated for your installation, and basic device information such as the platform and app version. It does not receive your journal, your name, or your email address. RevenueCat's privacy policy is at https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy.
Sharing and saving. If you choose to share a line, the app creates an image and hands it to the app you pick. If you choose to save that image, the app asks for permission to add it to your photo library, and adds only that image. Nothing is shared or saved unless you choose to.
Notifications. Reminders are scheduled on your device by the app itself. No notification service is involved, and nothing about them leaves the phone.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal information from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address with the date above updated.
