Glean — Terms of Use
Effective 7 September 2026.
By using Glean you agree to these terms.
What the app is
Glean offers one line at a time from texts in the public domain and a private place to write about it. It tells you nothing about the future, your health, or your decisions. The meaning of a line is yours to find; the app makes no claim about it.
Your journal
What you write belongs to you and stays on your device. You are responsible for backing up your phone if you want to keep it. We cannot restore a journal that was deleted with the app.
Free use and full access
The free version offers one line a day. Full access removes that limit and is sold as a monthly subscription, a yearly subscription, or a single lifetime purchase.
- Purchases are made through Apple's App Store or Google Play, under their terms. The price is shown in the app before you buy.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. You cancel in your App Store or Google Play account settings, not in the app.
- The lifetime purchase is a one-time payment for full access for as long as the app is available on your platform's store.
- Refunds are handled by Apple and Google under their policies.
- Use Restore purchases in the app to bring a purchase to a new device signed in to the same store account.
The texts
The lines come from public-domain sources, credited in the app. They are offered as literature, not as advice.
No warranty
The app is provided as is. We do not promise that it will always be available or free of errors, and we are not liable for decisions you make after reading a line in it.
Changes
These terms may change. The current version is published at this address.
